On January 20, 2026, Mr. Mey Samith, Executive Director of PPCIL, attended the inauguration of a new building at the Special Education High School in Ta Khmao City. The facility includes two three-story buildings with 36 classrooms, supporting the education and therapy of over 300 children with autism (as of 2025) to enhance their health, skills, communication, and independent living abilities.
This auspicious occasion, under the high presidency of Her Excellency Dr. Pich Chandmony Hun Manet, Her Excellency expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the school management and teachers for their dedication and specialized expertise in educating children with autism. The Royal Government of Cambodia, under the leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, continues to strengthen the education sector, particularly special education by providing facilities, materials, technical support, and teaching capacity to ensure the effective development of children with autism.
Phnom Penh Center for Independent Living (PPCIL) is the first IL movement in Cambodia, which is non-governmental organization established in September, 2009.
