About

Welcome to Phnom Penh Center for Independent Living

PPCIL is a disability-led organization dedicated to promoting the Independent Living movement, advancing disability inclusion, and creating a barrier-free society where persons with disabilities can live with dignity, independence, and equal rights.

Our primary goal is to disseminate Independent Living concepts while supporting people with severe disabilities through personal assistance services at the community level. PPCIL works toward the long-term development of a national personal assistance system, enabling persons with disabilities to exercise choice, control, and full participation in social and economic life.

At the heart of our work is a community-driven and grassroots approach. People with disabilities actively participate in planning and implementing PPCIL’s activities, including community trainings, workshops, seminars, and awareness programs on disability rights and inclusion. These initiatives empower participants to better understand disability from a rights-based perspective, strengthen self-advocacy skills, and build individual and collective capacity.

Through knowledge sharing and peer support, PPCIL helps promote inclusive attitudes and practices within communities. We believe that disability inclusion is essential to social development and human rights.

PPCIL sincerely thanks its staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and supporters. Their continued collaboration enables us to expand our impact and move closer to a society where all persons with disabilities can live independently and equally.
